Amazon Canada Hiring 9,000 Seasonal Workers for 2026 Holiday Season: Here’s How to Apply

Amazon is hiring 9,000 seasonal employees across Canada ahead of the holiday shopping season, with positions available at 55 locations and average hourly pay of nearly $24.

The hiring campaign, announced October 20, 2026, covers jobs at the company’s fulfilment centres, sortation centres and delivery stations.

Applications are being accepted throughout the holiday season, although available positions may change as hiring progresses.

What Jobs Are Available at Amazon?

Seasonal employees will help process and prepare customer orders during the busy holiday period.

The available work includes picking products from inventory, packing orders, sorting packages, stocking items and preparing shipments for delivery.

Jobs are spread across 55 Amazon facilities in Canada, rather than being concentrated at a single location.

How Much Do Amazon Seasonal Jobs Pay?

The average hourly base wage for seasonal positions is nearly $24 per hour.

Amazon has also announced more than $78 million in pay increases for its Canadian operations employees this year.

The company’s average hourly base wage for its broader Canadian operations workforce has risen by $1 to more than $26, an increase of approximately four per cent.

At 40 hours per week, that translates to more than $54,000 annually on average for full-time employees. This higher figure applies to the broader operations workforce, not specifically to seasonal hires.

What Benefits Are Available?

Seasonal employees receive select benefits beginning on their first day, including access to mental health and wellbeing support through Amazon’s Employee Assistance Program.

Eligible employees also receive a 10 per cent discount on online grocery and daily essentials purchases through Amazon.ca, with no cap on savings. The program began October 1.

Regular full-time employees have access to additional benefits, including health, dental and vision coverage, an RRSP with employer contributions and education assistance.

Can Seasonal Jobs Become Permanent?

Amazon says seasonal employment can provide a route to longer-term opportunities, although permanent positions are not guaranteed.

“For many people, a seasonal role at Amazon is their first introduction to the company,” said Chuck Cummings, Director of Customer Fulfillment at Amazon Canada.

The company’s Career Choice program also covers tuition costs for eligible employees pursuing further education.
