The free celebration will run from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., with both fireworks and a drone show planned for the evening.
Punjabi singer Sukhshinder Shinda will headline the main stage entertainment, presented by RBC. Vandana Kaur will open, while the cultural program will feature Bhangra, Gidda, Kathak, Garba, classical dance, dhol performances and other acts.
Among the scheduled performers are Nachdi Jawani, Rajasthanis In Toronto, Joti Dhillon, and Poojan Kholi and Band. Visitors can also explore food vendors and participate in activities throughout the event.
The evening’s two major outdoor displays have separate start times:
- Fireworks: 7:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.
- Drone show: 8:15 p.m. to 8:27 p.m.
Both displays may be cancelled if high winds or unfavourable weather create safety concerns.
Diwali, celebrated by Hindus, Jains, Sikhs and Buddhists, represents the triumph of light over darkness. Traditions include lighting diyas, creating colourful rangolis, exchanging gifts and sharing meals. The festival also coincides with Bandi Chhor Divas, observed by Sikhs.
