Cockburn is known for his politically charged and spiritual lyrics and his ability to blend various musical genres such as folk, jazz, rock, and worldbeat. He is highly regarded for his activism and his ability to capture the essence of the human experience in his songwriting.

“O Sun O Moon” is Cockburn’s first vocal album since 2017 and only his third release since his memoir “Rumours of Glory” in 2013.
