Budweiser Canada has introduced a limited-edition beer can celebrating Edmonton’s legacy as the “City of Champions.”

The special release was brewed at Labatt’s Edmonton facility and launched with the involvement of former NHL player Mark Messier, whose ties to the city include leading the Edmonton Oilers to multiple Stanley Cup victories.
Budweiser says a symbolic piece of Edmonton’s history—one of the original “City of Champions” signs—was displayed inside the brewery during the production process.
The initiative marks 45 years since Budweiser began brewing in Edmonton and was created as a tribute to the city’s community spirit and long-standing culture of resilience and achievement.

“This limited-edition can celebrates the champion spirit that goes beyond sports and lives in the hearts of the people who call it home,” said Pat Heembrock, Marketing Director, Budweiser Canada.
The limited-edition commemorative Edmonton cans are now available at participating locations across Alberta.
