Celebrate the vibrant spirit of the Chinese New Year at the Calgary Chinese Cultural Centre’s 2024 Festival, spanning two exciting weekends from February 3rd to 11th.

Calgary Chinese Cultural Centre

This grand event celebrating the Year of the Dragon invites the entire community to dive into a rich cultural experience with no cost for admission, offering a unique blend of activities that cater to all ages.

The event, which is open to the public without any admission fee, promises to be a memorable experience for families, friends, and anyone keen to explore the traditions and customs of the Chinese New Year.

 

Revel in the dynamic dragon and lion dances, explore a bustling market of vendors, and be captivated by a variety of multicultural performances. The festival is a brilliant display of heritage, uniting diverse groups through the joyous celebration of Chinese traditions and the significance of the New Year.

Set against the backdrop of the Calgary Chinese Cultural Centre, scheduled performances light up the atmosphere from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. featuring the mesmerizing dragon dance and the lively lion dance alongside an array of activities designed to engage families and children, such as calligraphy and face painting.

Through traditional lion and dragon dances, multicultural performances, and a bustling food and craft market, the event encapsulates the spirit of unity and shared joy. Additional family-friendly activities, including calligraphy and face painting, ensure that there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Feb 03 — Dragon Dance: 12:00 p.m. Lion Dance: 1:00 p.m.
Feb 04 — Dragon Dance: 12:00 p.m.
Feb 10 — Dragon Dance & Lion Dance: 12:15 p.m.
Feb 11 — Dragon Dance: 12:00 p.m.
