The Garage Sports Bar and Restaurant in Eau Claire Market said that the restaurant is closing temporarily after a staff member tested positive for Covid-19.
According to the release, “The affected employee traveled from Frankfurt to Calgary and had shifts at The Garage from Tuesday, March 3 through to Saturday, March 7, 2020. We are working closely with Alberta Health Services (ANS) and are taking every precaution to protect our employees and patrons, including a voluntary and temporary closure of our business. The closure took effect Tuesday, March 10. and will remain in effect until further notice.”

“All staff that were in contact with the affected individual have voluntarily gone into a 14-day self-isolation. While we were not ordered or instructed to close, we are taking this time to ensure every precaution is met and exceeded for the safety of our staff and patrons. The premise is being thoroughly cleansed and disinfected and we will reopen only when every health protocol and precaution has been met ensuring public safety. Staff and patrons at The Garage are a family and as such we look after each other. We will ensure any staff members missing work due to this shut down will be fully reimbursed for lost shifts.”
