As Valentine’s Day approaches, OpenTable has released its Top 100 Romantic Restaurants in Canada for 2026, offering a data-driven snapshot of where diners across the country are most likely to book a special night out.
The list draws from more than 900,000 reviews submitted by verified diners, combined with reservation behaviour and demand patterns over a full year.
Ontario leads the list with 47 restaurants, followed by Alberta and British Columbia, while establishments from Quebec and Atlantic Canada also make appearances. The selections range from long-established fine dining rooms to newer additions, including recent entrants such as Luca in Calgary, Jazz Bistro in Toronto, and The Royal Hotel in Prince Edward County.
Per OpenTable, nearly half of Canadians plan to dine out for Valentine’s Day, and many report difficulty finding available reservations. OpenTable’s data suggests the Top 100 restaurants are often among the first to fill up, particularly during peak weekends.
Per the news release, the rankings were generated using dining data collected from 1,506 Canadians between December 1, 2024, and November 30, 2025. Restaurants had to meet a minimum review threshold and were assessed using multiple weighted factors, including overall ratings, five-star review share, advance bookings, and capacity usage. Final inclusion depended on how frequently diners tagged their experience as “romantic.”
