Charlottetown & Billy Bishop Are the Most Reliable Airports in Canada

A new analysis of online reviews finds that Charlottetown airport is the most reliable, while London’s airport is the least reliable among  20 popular airports in Canada.

With Canada hosting approximately 117 million passengers annually, the question of which airports best meet traveller expectations is pertinent.  A recent study conducted by Ontario Casinos provides insights into the Canadian airports that receive the most and least complaints, specifically regarding delays and cancellations. By analyzing passenger reviews, the study offers a glimpse into the traveller experience across various major airports in the country.

Topping the list of airports with the most complaints is London International Airport in Ontario, where an alarming 42% of reviews mention delays, positioning it as the most criticized airport for its handling of flight schedules. Conversely, Charlottetown Airport in Prince Edward Island stands out as the least complained about, boasting a remarkable lack of reviews citing delays.

Following London International, Fredericton International Airport emerges as the second most critiqued, with 36% of its reviews rating it one or two stars, primarily due to delay or cancellation issues. Toronto Pearson International Airport ranks third, notable not for delay complaints, which appear in only 10% of reviews, but for its high percentage (41%) of reviews rating it below three stars.

On the brighter side, Charlottetown Airport emerges as a beacon of efficiency, with not a single review mentioning delays. Other airports that have managed to keep complaints to a minimum include Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport and St John’s International Airport, showcasing their ability to provide a smoother travel experience.

Per the news release, Ontario Casinos analyzed Yelp reviews for 20 leading Canadian airports, focusing on the percentage of reviews under three stars and those mentioning ‘cancelled’, ‘delayed’, or ‘late’. This analysis determined a final score, identifying Canada’s most complained-about airports based on passenger feedback.
