The Meadows location will be operated by Jagdeep “Jag” Dhanju, a long-time Edmonton resident and seasoned entrepreneur in the local food industry. The restaurant is expected to employ between 90 to 110 full- and part-time staff.
Dhanju brings over two decades of experience to the role, having previously managed his family’s business, Meridian Banquet, and later co-founding Tiffin: India’s Fresh Kitchen. Tiffin was notable for its use of fully biodegradable packaging, reflecting Dhanju’s focus on sustainability and innovation.
The new restaurant, located at 4004 17th Street Northwest, will begin operations on Thursday, April 10, 2025. It will offer dine-in and take-out service from 10:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., with the drive-thru remaining open until 10:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

In connection with the opening, Chick-fil-A will donate approximately $34,000 to a local nonprofit via Second Harvest. Since 2020, Chick-fil-A has contributed about $2 million to Canadian hunger-relief efforts through the same organization. The Meadows location will also join the Chick-fil-A Shared Table program, which repurposes excess food for local food banks, shelters, and soup kitchens.
The restaurant’s launch coincides with new menu additions in Canada, including Mac & Cheese and Pineapple Dragonfruit beverages.
Chick-fil-A plans to open eight new locations in Ontario and Alberta in 2025, its highest number of Canadian openings since entering the market in 2019.
