Chipotle Mexican Grill is bringing back a menu item that clearly struck a chord with Canadian customers.

Chipotle Honey Chicken, first introduced in 2025, returns nationwide on April 28 after becoming the brand’s top-selling limited-time offering in Canada.

The dish pairs freshly grilled chicken with smoky chipotle peppers and a touch of honey. It lands right in the middle of what food trends are calling “swicy,” a mix of sweet and spicy flavours that has been gaining traction across menus and social media. According to Kerry Group, Canadians are increasingly drawn to combinations like hot honey, which helps explain the item’s popularity.

“When it launched, it quickly became our most requested limited-time offering,” said Anat Davidzon, Managing Director of International at Chipotle, based in Toronto. The decision to bring it back, she said, comes directly from customer demand.

This time around, there is a new option. Chipotle Honey Chicken will be available in the High Protein Cup for the first time, offering a different way to build a meal focused on protein.

The return also follows a series of menu updates, including Chicken al Pastor and Cilantro Lime Sauce earlier this year, as the company leans into bolder flavours for 2026.

For those unsure how to order it, Chipotle’s Senior Vice President of Culinary, Nevielle Panthaky, suggests pairing it in a bowl with white rice, black beans, chili corn salsa, and guacamole.

To mark the launch, Chipotle is offering a $0 delivery fee on orders placed through its app or website from April 28 to May 11, with a minimum purchase of $12 before taxes and fees.
