Ontario’s garlic harvest is in — and eighty farmers, chefs, and makers are turning it into something worth experiencing. Join thousands of visitors for one day at Allan Gardens.
Start with the sweet and savoury made exclusively for the festival, all using Ontario-grown garlic, including Soy Garlic Korean Chicken Bites from K-Bites, Ontario Garlic Sourdough Focaccia from Bread and Salt Fine Food, Black Garlic Miso Caramel Ice Cream from Good Behaviour Ice Cream, and Black Garlic Brown Butter Chocolate Chunk Cookies by Bluet Bakery. Then stock up on your winter supply of Ontario garlic to take home.
Garlic drinks too: sip Left Field Brewery’s Roasted Garlic Eephus Oatmeal Brown Ale — toasted malt and subtle chocolate meeting the warm, mellow character of roasted Ontario garlic — or County Bounty’s Black Garlic Dr Pepper, among others.
Contests and activities galore: kids’ activities, the Vampire Costume Contest, the Garlic Breath Contest (cheating is allowed), and the Garlic Bulb Cracking Contest — where you’re helping a farmer prep their garlic for fall planting. Plus music spanning the world from DJ Flavia.
