CEMA Chief Tom Sampson announced that City of Calgary is closing all City-operated playgrounds (equipment only) effective immediately due to COVID-19.
All city parks will remain open and residents are allowed to use them as long as they keep the 2-meter social distancing guideline.
Calgary has 8,000 hectares of parks spaces, including a variety of natural areas and nearly 1,000 km of pathways. City of Calgary has asked park users to stay at least six feet apart and avoid touching equipment with hard surfaces as they are not disinfected regularly.
Sunday advice from CEMA Chief Tom Sampson:
“For those who are feeling unwell or returned from an international trip, you must stay home.
“But this doesn’t mean you can’t go outside to get some fresh air or enjoy a walk in a park as long as you are at a distance from others.” pic.twitter.com/X0sxlqIbCB
