Dairy Queen Canada has a new fall menu. Starting September 28, customers will also find mystery collectible plushies, including a rare version that comes with a considerably bigger prize.
The new Mystery Blizzard Buddies are plushie keychains based on DQ’s Blizzard Treats. There are five characters to collect, but buyers will not know which one they have until they open the sealed package.
Each costs $6 as an add-on to any purchase and is available while supplies last.
The twist is the Golden Plushie. DQ says rare golden versions have been placed in select packages across Canada, and finding one gives customers a chance to win free DQ for a year.
For those more interested in what they can eat than collect, DQ has also introduced its limited-time Spellbound Series.
What’s on DQ’s new Spellbound menu?
- Bubble Brew DQ Sparkler: A sparkling drink inspired by blood orange lemonade and topped with cold foam. Stirring the drink creates a bubbling effect.
- Enchanted OREO Blizzard Treat: OREO cookie pieces and ube are blended with DQ soft serve, then topped with what the company describes as an “enchanted shimmer swirl.”
The Spellbound Series is available through November 1.
There is also an app component to the promotion. DQ Rewards members can access the Spellbound Secret Lair through the DQ App and play a daily memory game. Prizes include DQ gift cards, bonus DQ Points and other rewards.
So, there are effectively three parts to DQ’s fall promotion: two new menu items to try, five mystery Blizzard Buddies to collect, and the hunt for the much rarer Golden Plushies.
Unlike the Spellbound food and drink lineup, the Mystery Blizzard Buddies are only being offered while supplies last.
