Drone Shows & More: 10 Things to Do During Grey Cup Festival in Vancouver

Winnipeg Blue Bombers take on Toronto Argonauts during Canada’s most iconic sporting event, the 111th Grey Cup game on Sunday, November 17th at B.C. Place in Vancouver.

Here are ten things fans can look forward to during the  Grey Cup Festival Week.

  • Drone Show (free): Destination Vancouver is hosting a free, all-ages drone show on Wednesday, November 13, at 8:30 p.m., as the grand finale of the Grey Cup Festival Kickoff Party. For 12 minutes, approximately 1,000 drones will illuminate the sky, showcasing a dynamic display of light and movement crafted by Pixel Sky Animations. This event is weather-dependent; if conditions are unfavourable, it will be rescheduled for Friday, November 15. The drone show will be visible from along the waterfront seawall between the Vancouver Convention Centre West and Westin Bayshore Hotel.
  • Save-On-Foods Street Festival(free): The FREE Save-On-Foods Street Festival, held on Canada Place Way, features two ziplines, live entertainment, an outdoor mini field, food trucks, and over 30 sponsor activities. The Harbour Zipline offers stunning views of Vancouver’s Coal Harbour, while the Payworks Entertainment Stage hosts live music daily with themed performances. Families can enjoy football drills on the Prospera Mini Field, free programming, and CFL alumni visits. Additional highlights include the BC Tour truck with giveaways and Calgary’s classic Grey Cup Pancake Breakfast.

  • Kickoff Party Presented by PCI Developments ft. Felix Cartal(free): Fans can enjoy a performance by Felix Cartal, a Juno-Award-winning DJ known for his vibrant music and international acclaim. The party, featuring the championship trophy, starts at 6:00 p.m. PT on Canada Pl Way, within the lively Save-On-Foods Street Festival, and includes early access to fan zones at the Vancouver Convention Centre.
  • Telus Family Zone(free): The FREE TELUS Family Zone at Vancouver Convention Centre East offers a fun, interactive space for all ages, featuring a mini football field, a kids’ combine, and an inflatable obstacle course. Kids can try a mini zipline and test football skills, while fans can kick field goals to support charity through TELUS Kick for Good. Other attractions include an Old Dutch climbing wall and the Prospera Indoor Mini Field, with drop-in demos and activities throughout the day for football fun.
  • Payworks Entertainment Stage(free):  The FREE Payworks Entertainment Stage at the Save-On-Foods Street Festival showcases top local and national talent from Wednesday to Saturday during Grey Cup Week. Enjoy live performances daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., with headliners at 7:30 p.m. each evening, courtesy of Sentinel Storage. Themed performances include “Global Sounds” with Delhi 2 Dublin on Thursday, “Best of BC” with Dear Rouge on Friday, and “Wild West Coast” (Country Day) with Chad Brownlee on Saturday.

  • Coors Light Team Party HQ: The Coors Light Team Party HQ provides a unique experience with access to seven CFL team party rooms on one ticket for the first time. The zones include Lions Den, Spirit of Edmonton, Stamps House, Riderville, Touchdown Manitoba, Eastern Social Hall, Atlantic Schooners, and Montreal House, allowing fans to celebrate in a variety of themed spaces.
  • Coors Light Saturday Night Concert: Sam Roberts Band and The Trews: The Coors Light Saturday Night Concert delivers an electrifying night in downtown Vancouver, headlined by Canadian alt-rock stars Sam Roberts Band with special guests, The Trews. Devon Cole and VAVO(free): This free pre-game celebration at the Corner of Robson Street & Beatty Street will feature live performances by Canadian ‘YEE-DM’ DJ duo, VAVO, and headliner, Calgary-born pop music rising star, Devon Cole.   • Grey Cup: The festival finale kicks off at 3 p.m. on Sun, Nov 17, 2024 with Eastern and Western Division champions battling for the Canadian Football League’s top honour. The Jonas Brothers headline the Twisted Tea Halftime Show, with Owen Riegling in the SiriusXM Kickoff Show and Sofia Camara performing the national anthem.
