Over the past few winter months, Edmonton has welcome new casual spots, cafes, and restaurants more on the side of fine or gourmet dining. There are options for all sorts of food tastes and preferences, including fresh pastries and cakes, sushi, burgers, seafood, wine and cocktails, beer, or barbecue.
Plus, there are four weeks in March dedicated to celebrating the best of downtown Edmonton dining and the best of cocktails in Edmonton.

Tatsu Sushi

Scratch Baking & Café
The Scratch Baking Café is now open for dine-in and take out orders in downtown Edmonton. The new café (a few blocks away from Tatsu Sushi) focus on breakfast and lunch, as well as handmade and freshly baked treats. The bakery also takes orders for custom cakes (with two weeks’ notice).

Space Tea
This new burger joint in south Edmonton are creating buzz around their smash burgers, bubble tea, and beef tacos. Space Tea is a smaller takeout spot with a bright and cozy dining area complete with trendy outer space designs and décor. Keep this spot in mind for the warmer days; their drink menu includes slushes, lemonades, shakes, iced teas, milk teas, and their signature Rocket Juices.

Bibo
Does the name Bibo Wine Bar ring a bell? That might be because this restaurant was once open in Edmonton but had to close its doors in 2016. After a long wait for their loyal customers, Bibo is back open in the revamped Strathcona Hotel. As a wine bar, Bibo offer plates for sharing and pairing, a great wine list, and craft cocktails. Bibo is part of the Culina family of restaurants that operate locations throughout the river valley.

Oceania Grill
Find Edmonton’s newest seafood spot across from the Midway Bar on Calgary Trail. Oceania Grill, located in the Allendale Professional Centre East, opened about a month ago, and offer food and drink menus meant to transport you straight to the coast. This includes seafood, fishbowl cocktails, and an upscale beach vibe inside the restaurant.

Ricky’s All Day Grill
Find a new Ricky’s All Day Grill location on 82nd in the Mill Creek neighbourhood. Ricky’s are well-known for their hearty breakfast and brunch items, and for being a reliable family restaurant with something on the menu for everyone. This is the eighth Ricky’s Grill location in Edmonton.

Downtown Dining Week
For the last week and a half of March, downtown Edmonton’s restaurants will participate in Dining Week by offering guests the best of what their menus have to offer. Each restaurant will do so by creating a special prix fixe offering created especially for Downtown Dining Week. These meals will range in price depending on where you go with options for meals at $15, $25, $35, $50 and $65 per person. Additional culinary events are scheduled for the week like speed dating, craft workshops, dance parties, and live musical performances at different restaurants.
