Environment Canada: Snowfall Warning Issued for Central Alberta and Edmonton

imageEnvironment Canada has issued snowfall warning this morning (Thursday, January 31, 2019) for most of Central Alberta including Alberta Capital Region.

The areas included in the warning includes the entire stretch from the BC Border (Jasper National Park, Hinton, Grand Cache, Grande Prairie) to Saskatchewan Border (Lloydminster) and Slave Lake to Nordegg.

A long duration snowstorm is expected to produce total accumulations of 15 to 30 cm by Saturday afternoon.

Environment Canada says a slow moving frontal system will spread heavy snow from west to east across central Alberta starting this morning.
