1. Sliver Skate Festival

The 25th annual Silver Skate Festival is the longest running winter festival in Edmonton. The festival is rooted in the Dutch tradition of a love of the outdoors and the pleasure of experiencing the cultural and aesthetic beauty of winter. Details

2. Max’s Musical Misadventure

After an unsuccessful attempt to impress his friends with his musical talents, young Max and his faithful dog Presto, retreat to their hideout in the attic. Unrolling an ancient scroll, Max hears a magical spell that sends him on a musical misadventure to a vibrant South American country where the evil wizard, Adalberto, is sewing discord and disharmony. With the help of the audience and the orchestra, Max and Presto must unravel the mystery and collect the musical cues that will bring the people together in song.​​​

3. Mary Poppins in Concert

Some of the hits from the 1964 Disney classic (from Disney’s Vevo Channel) are on the right to whet your appetite! Introduce little ones to some marvelous tunes and world-class singing in a fun, mid-day environment! The Gala goes Saturday night, with a high tea, candy shop, and bird seed sale at the reception to follow.

4. Mike the Knight

Brave yourself! The cheerful yet bountiful Mike the Knight sets the stage his first ever North American theatrical production, Mike the Knight in the Great Scavenger Hunt.Set in an enchanting world filled with medieval castles, plucky trolls and flying dragons, “Mike the Knight in the Great Scavenger Hunt” unfolds through a mix of adventure, comedy, music, song and dance, and of course a little bit of magic!​​​

5.  Sip & Slide Sundays

Every Sunday in February, pack up your sleds, crazy carpets and snow saucers, hit toboggan hills with the family, and warm up those little red noses with a FREE hot drink from the City of Edmonton and Global TV Edmonton.

6.  Swing ‘n’ Skate

Swing ‘n’ Skate features live swing, jazz and big band music in the City Room at Edmonton City Hall. Local hep-cats, the Sugar Swing Dance Club, will help put the boogie-woogie in your step along with local acts pumping out the jazzy beats. If you’d rather be outdoors, the music will be broadcast directly outside for the enjoyment of ice skaters on City Hall Plaza.

Now in its 13th year, the Hair Massacure promises to be a day of laughter, tears, hope and, above all, love and incredible spirit. People of all ages, many with pink hair, will be at the Ice Palace to have their heads shaved in this fundraiser, which supports the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation and the Make-A-Wish Foundation Northern Alberta.​​​
