1. The Flying Canoe Adventure
We invite you to discover the legend of La Chasse-galerie (The Flying Canoe), a combination of French-Canadian and First-Nation legends told by various lost canoeists along a lit trail in the Mill Creek Ravine. Enjoy horse-drawn wagon rides, live music, hot chocolate, a snow slide and children’s activities. Adventure.
2. Snowshoeing Through Time
Snowshoe by moonlight along Edmonton’s sensational River Valley loop. Our historical interpreters will guide you through an experience the voyageurs have taken in centuries past. Explore our 1846 Fort and discover what life was like for our early settlers in the winters of Western Canada. Finish the evening around the fire with hot apple cider and a horse-drawn wagon ride to the Train Station entrance.
3. Snow Festival
City of Leduc. Come out and enjoy the best of Winter! Food, fun and ice will be featured in several events over the course of the weekend!
4. Surf’s Up!

5. Valentine’s Day Party
In 1885, paper was precious and was saved for use on special occasions. Valentines Day is just that time! Make valentines for the whole family together just as the pioneers did. Treat yourselves after with some heart-shaped sugar cookies baked over a wood-burning stove and refresh with homemade lemonade. End your family’s time with us by playing some favourite old-time games. See you there!
6. Sip & Slide Sundays
Every Sunday in February, pack up your sleds, crazy carpets and snow saucers, hit toboggan hills with the family, and warm up those little red noses with a FREE hot drink from the City of Edmonton and Global TV Edmonton.
7. Swing ‘n’ Skate
Swing ‘n’ Skate features live swing, jazz and big band music in the City Room at Edmonton City Hall. Local hep-cats, the Sugar Swing Dance Club, will help put the boogie-woogie in your step along with local acts pumping out the jazzy beats. If you’d rather be outdoors, the music will be broadcast directly outside for the enjoyment of ice skaters on City Hall Plaza.

Join us for this all day 3 on 3 Pond Hockey Tournament that is full of excitement for everyone. There will also be beer gardens open to the public and Dairy Queen and hay rides for the kids.

4th Annual Stadnyk Frozen Ring Outdoor Ringette Tournament. Approximately 28 teams and over 400 athletes ranging in age from 6-12 years from across Alberta will be attending this tournament.

Family Event: Celebrate Gateway’s 40 years of supporting families in the community at the association’s 40th Anniversary Gala. Watch live “found object” art installation, Visit the banner exhibit, a gallery-style unveiling of 40 stories from Gateway’s history. Enjoy a flash-mob-meets-a cappella production featuring Gateway staff and volunteers with vocal artists Ellen Pollard, Ben Krieger and Caitlin Krieger. Details

5. Vitalus Edmonton
Vitalus Edmonton is an annual charity benefit performance and silent auction hosted by the Golden Key Charity Fundraising Committee.This year’s benefit concert features an amazing and talented line-up of local singer songwriters, musicians,story-tellers, and dance performers. There will also be a silent auction with some great items to bid on, and snacks.
6. Lunar New Year
Edmonton Chinatown Multi-Cultural Centre’s 2015 Lunar New Year Extravaganza will feature a marketplace and an exciting showcase of Chinese performers celebrating the upcoming Year of the Sheep. This two-day event is an excellent opportunity to have a unique shopping and cultural experience at the same time!
