Don’t miss Mickey Mouse as he dabbles in magic in Dukas’s The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, the mythical unicorns and winged horses that accompany Beethoven’s “Pastoral” Symphony, the garden festivities of Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker Suite, and much more!

5. Orchestre Métropolitain

Conducting phenomenon and current Music Director of the Philadelphia Orchestra, Yannick Nézet-Séguin leads his home town ensemble, Montreal’s Orchestre Métropolitain, in their Toronto debut. The Orchestre Métropolitain’s personality is palpable in its distinctive sound and energy.

Juno-award winner, singer-songwriter and guitarist Canadian rock icon Kim Mitchell has achieved gold and multiplatinum sales status over a long and storied career, starting early as the leader of Max Webster, a band that defined alternative long before the word became cliché. Join Kim for his 30th Anniversary Tour of Akimbo Alogo – his first solo album –  all songs that have become part of the Canadian musical genome.

8. Harlem-Kingston Express

FSome may be surprised to know that reggae music actually has deep roots in jazz. Pianist Monty Alexander has been bringing jazz back to reggae music (and vice versa) for decades, and with Harlem-Kingston Express he explores the connections between traditional reggae and straight-ahead jazz, while also forging new ones. Hailing from Kingston, Jamaica, Monty Alexander shot to fame when Sinatra first heard him in a tiny club.

9. Baroque Favourites

MCS Chorus is joined by soloists and a chamber orchestra to bring you an evening of vibrant baroque music from England, Italy, and Germany, featuring Handel’s Laudate Pueri Dominum (Psalm 112). The program also includes Pergolesi’s Magnificat and J.S. Bach’s Aus der Tiefe.

10. The Blues Hall of Fame Tour

This tour features a rare opportunity to see three living blues legends and Hall of Fame inductees together on one stage! Anchored by Charlie Musselwhite and his band (2010 inductee), the show also features individual and collaborative performances from James Cotton (2006 inductee) and John Hammond (2011 inductee).Details

12. Romeo Scaccia

Romeo Scaccia is a fantastic pianist and brilliant composer who has honed his skills and talents during a diverse and eclectic career. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to The Redwood shelter. The Redwood is Toronto based shelter providing a safe haven for women and children so they can live free from domestic abuse.

13. Mississauga Symphony Orchestra

Join us for the rhythms, melodious harmonies, innate passion and true sounds of the Mediterranean. Follow Ibert’s voyage from France to Italy, Tunisia and Spain. The exquisite French qualities of Ravel are poignantly transparent in his fiery and elegant “Alborado del gracioso”. Mendelssohn pays homage to Italian folk traditions in this Fourth Symphony. Daniel Bolshoy performs the Concierto de Aranjuez, the most famous and passionate of guitar concertos.

A good song will lend itself to a variety of stylistic interpretations irrespective of the composer’s original intent. Come join Denzal Sinclaire and company as they continue their genre bending exploration.

16. Old, Young, Eternal Vienna

In a program that spans from Mozart to Schoenberg, we time-travel to Vienna’s many heydays, when the city was at the epicenter of musical innovation. The program will include Schoenberg’s epic Pierrot Lunaire with a stellar cast including violinist Steven Dann, cellist Julie Hereish, flutist Susan Hoeppner, clarinetist Yao Guang Zhai, pianist Boris Zarankin and sprecher Ilana Zarankin under the baton of Kenneth Slowik.

17. David Louie & Véronique Mathieu

ARC Ensemble and GGS faculty member, pianist/harpsichordist David Louie, joins violinist Véronique Mathieu in a program of three Bach sonatas for violin and harpsichord. The program will also include Händel’s Harpsichord Suite No. 5 and Rameau’s Concert No. 5 in D Minor from Pièces de clavecin en concerts, arranged for solo harpsichord by David Louie.

LOL with the best of them! The Just for Laughs Road Show returns with four of the funniest comedians from the world’s largest and most prestigious comedy event.

3. The Old Lady Shows Her Medals

Once again Backwoods Players is delighted to present a dessert theatre: guests will be treated to delicious sweets, tea and coffee and then swept away into J.M. Barrie’s bittersweet play The Old Lady Shows Her Medals. As part of the PMV’s ongoing commemoration of World War 1, Backwoods honours both the veterans of that war and those on the home front. In this WW1 era play, Mrs. Dowey is entertaining three friends who boast proudly of their sons’ prowess at the front. Mrs. Dowey, who is childless but wants to share in their glory, pretends to have a son named Kenneth and when the curate arrives with a stray soldier named, coincidentally, Kenneth Dowey, the complications begin.
