Firehouse Subs Offers Free Subs to Firefighters Across Canada on May 4

On May 4, marking International Firefighters’ Day, Firehouse Subs Canada is offering a free medium sub to both active-duty and retired firefighters at participating locations nationwide.

The offer is straightforward. Show a valid firefighter ID, official credentials, or arrive in uniform, and you can claim one sub in-store. It is limited to one per person and does not apply to app or delivery orders.

The gesture ties closely to the brand’s origins. Firehouse Subs was founded in 1994 by two brothers who were former firefighters, and that background still shapes how the company positions itself today. Beyond food, the chain has also supported public safety efforts through its non-profit arm, the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation.

In Canada, the company’s footprint has grown steadily since its first locally owned franchise opened in Oshawa in 2015. It now operates across multiple provinces, including Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia.
