Calgary is about to get its first taste of Shake Shack, with the brand confirming an opening date.
The new location is set to open at 10:30 a.m. on May 11 at CF Chinook Centre, marking the company’s first step into the city and a broader expansion in Canada.
The menu will feature Alberta-exclusive items, including a Prairie Berry Shake made with Saskatoon berries and an Oh My Honey Pie Concrete created with Pie Junkie’s salted honey pie. Another item, the More S’mores Concrete, will direct five per cent of sales to the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation.
These additions are tied to partnerships with regional producers like Beretta Farms, Prairie Berries, Pie Junkie, and Burwood Distillery, reflecting a focus on local sourcing.
Beyond the food, the space itself leans into Calgary’s identity. Murals by local artist Irene Neyman will be part of the design, highlighting city landmarks and community themes.
The launch also includes a limited-edition trading card series. Leading up to opening day, packs will be hidden across the city, with clues shared online. Collecting a full set can earn a complimentary meal, while rare cards offer prizes like event access, merchandise, and even a year of free ShackBurgers.
On opening day, the first 100 customers in line will receive a pack, adding one more incentive to show up early.
