FlixBus is adding new seasonal service in Ontario this summer, with routes linking Toronto to Muskoka, North Bay and Prince Edward County.
The new service begins June 8 and is aimed at travellers heading to cottage country, beaches, festivals, universities and northern communities during the peak summer season. The expansion also includes a new stop at Parry Sound Airport on the existing Toronto-Sudbury route.
Karina Frayter, head of communications at Flix North America, said the added routes are meant to give travellers more flexibility during busy travel periods, especially for those looking to avoid driving, traffic and parking.
The Toronto-Muskoka-North Bay route will stop in Barrie, Orillia, Gravenhurst, Bracebridge and Huntsville. It will run one round trip per day, five days a week, on Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, through September 13, 2026.
The bus leaves Union Station Bus Terminal at 9:30 a.m., followed by Toronto Pearson Airport Terminal 1 at 10:00 a.m. The bus then stops in Barrie at 11:05 a.m., Orillia at 11:40 a.m., Gravenhurst at 12:10 p.m., Bracebridge at 12:45 p.m., Huntsville at 1:15 p.m. and South River, at the Crystal Cave Mineral Exhibit, at 2:00 p.m.
The bus arrives in North Bay at 2:45 p.m., making the northbound trip about five hours and 15 minutes from Union Station. The return trip leaves North Bay at 4:00 p.m. and arrives at Toronto Pearson at 8:35 p.m. One-way trip tickets start at $48.98.
FlixBus says the route will help connect travellers to major summer events, including the Mariposa Folk Festival in Orillia, the Tall Pines Music & Arts Festival in Gravenhurst, and the Boots and Hearts Music Festival near Barrie.
The Parry Sound Airport stop will be served through the Toronto-Sudbury corridor, with service operating twice daily during the summer season.
FlixBus is also launching a Toronto-Prince Edward County route. The route starts at Toronto Pearson at 6:50 a.m., followed by Union Station Bus Terminal at 7:20 a.m., Scarborough at 8:00 a.m., Whitby-Oshawa at 8:30 a.m., and Trenton at 9:50 a.m. The bus then reaches Bloomfield, at Emmanuel Baptist Church, at 10:40 a.m., before arriving in Picton at 10:50 a.m.
The return trip departs Picton at 2:00 p.m. and arrives at Toronto Pearson at 6:50 p.m., offering travellers a same-day option to visit Prince Edward County. One-way trip tickets start at $32.98.
