Free Cinco de Mayo Celebration Returns to ICE District Plaza Monday

Edmonton’s ICE District Plaza will come alive with music, food, and dancing as part of a special Cinco de Mayo celebration on Monday, May 5.

Organized by OEG Sports & Entertainment, the event will run in two time slots: a lunchtime program from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., followed by an evening session from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The celebration will showcase a mix of live entertainment and cultural experiences. Guests can expect performances by Mariachi Borealis and DJ Teqnic, offering a lively soundtrack throughout the day. For those interested in dancing, Etown Salsa will be providing free salsa lessons for all skill levels.

Mexican cuisine will be front and center, with food available from local vendors including El Mero Mero Taqueria, Street Taco YEG, and Casa12 Doce. Latin-inspired cocktails and other beverages will also be served, adding to the festive atmosphere.

Admission is free, and the event is open to all ages, making it a family-friendly outing. In addition to enjoying the cultural festivities, attendees will have a chance to win tickets to an Edmonton Oilers playoff game.
