The Calgary Municipal Land Corporation (CMLC) has unveiled a new series of events and programs set to enliven East Village and the Culture + Entertainment District this summer.

CMLC plans to host over 850 diverse events across these downtown neighbourhoods throughout 2024.
Starting in June, the East Village and adjoining areas will come alive with a variety of activities suitable for family outings and individual exploration.
Among these, CMLC is launching a unique fly fishing experience on St. Patrick’s Island, facilitated by Drift Out West. This initiative marks a first for the area and complements the return of popular events such as bird watching excursions with Nature Calgary and assorted market pop-ups along the scenic RiverWalk.

Alongside this, the beloved Birding on St. Patrick’s Island returns, providing nature lovers guided tours to explore local wildlife, available on June 9 and June 28 for a nominal fee.
For those who enjoy community and celebration, the National accessArts Centre (NaAC) is hosting a dance party at Confluence Plaza on June 7, celebrating the talents of artists with diverse abilities. The Neighbour Day festivities on June 15 in the Culture + Entertainment District will feature a host of free activities perfect for family enjoyment, from block parties to interactive events at Pixel Park.
Market enthusiasts have plenty to look forward to with the return of market season in East Village. The Mom Market on June 2 and Easy Days Pop-Up Market on June 16 will transform the RiverWalk Plaza into a vibrant hub of local artisans and designers, all set against the picturesque backdrop of urban Calgary.
