There are two types of parklands under Ontario Parks: operating parks and non-operating parks.
Operating parks (115 in total) charge an admission fee ranging from $12.25 to $21.00 per vehicle, depending on your age, disability and the park (size, popularity, etc).
One day a year, Ontario Parks offers free admission in honour of Healthy Parks Healthy People.
Healthy Parks Healthy People is a global movement which encourages people to enjoy the power of nature and parks for their preventative and restorative health and well-being benefits while conserving biodiversity.
The free admission day falls in mid-July each year, and this year, it is offered on July 17th.
If you plan to take advantage of the free admission day and visit one of the 91 busiest parks, remember to book your admission in advance.
Remember, additional facility charges are not included in free day use. You will need to pay for camping and boat tours to Mazinaw Rock at Bon Echo. Equipment rentals and pools at Bronte Creek and Earl Rowe provincial parks will remain in effect during the celebration.
