The Edmonton Radial Railway Society (ERRS) has completed the 800 m extension of the High Level Bridge Streetcar line across 103 Street (Gateway Blvd) and south to the north side of Whyte Avenue following the abandoned Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) right-of-way.

The project was funded by the City of Edmonton, Alberta Culture, the Edmonton Radial Railway Society and donors.

The completion of the line extension means that those who take a scenic ride on High Level Street Car from Jasper Plaza Terminal will now be able to get off at the New Whyte Ave Streetcar Platform immediately north of Whyte Ave between Gateway and 102 St.

Tourists visiting Edmonton will also be able to easily visit Old Strathcona and take a historic ride to Alberta legislature grounds enjoying views of the North Saskatchewan River valley.

ERRS will be holding a grand opening ceremony on May 19, 2022, 11 a.m. at the new Whyte Ave Platform.

High Level Bridge Street Car begins its season on Friday, May 20th and will run until Thanksgiving weekend.

Edmonton Radial Railway Society also operates Fort Edmonton Streetcar line inside Fort Edmonton Park during the Park’s operating season.

Edmonton Radial Railway Society is a 100% volunteer organization that restores, maintains and operates historic streetcars with priority given to Edmonton streetcars and streetcars from across Western Canada.
