The venue, operated by Live Nation Canada under an agreement with the National Capital Commission (NCC), will offer both general admission and reserved seating for a range of events, including concerts, galas, and community programs.
Previously home to a Chapters bookstore, the building is currently undergoing renovations before its expected 2026 completion.
The space includes 3,805 m² above ground and 2,230 m² of basement space, providing a state-of-the-art experience with premium seating, advanced sound and lighting, and high-end hospitality.
Located near the ByWard Market, Rideau Centre, and Parliamentary Precinct, the venue is in a high-profile area along Confederation Boulevard, a stretch known as the Mile of History. NCC considers the building part of the National Interest Land Mass (NILM) due to its prominent location along Confederation Boulevard and its proximity to many Ottawa landmarks.
NCC acquired the property in January 2024 and finalized the lease agreement with Live Nation in June of the same year.
History Ottawa is expected to open in early 2026.
