Spring is around the corner, and if you want to spruce up the home with glorious flowers or gift a unique plant to your loved one this Valentine’s Day, two huge plant sales are happening this weekend in Toronto.

Southern Ontario Orchid Society is hosting its annual Southern Ontario Orchid Show & Sale on February 11th and 12th at Toronto Botanical Gardens at 777 Lawrence Ave E.
This show is a paradise for orchid lovers, showcasing over 30,000 exotic specimens for display and sale. Whether you’re a seasoned collector or just starting out, you’ll find everything you need to grow your own beautiful orchids, including a range of growing supplies.
Art and photography enthusiasts will also enjoy the stunning display of orchid-themed works. In addition, there are seminars conducted by experts in the field, providing you with in-depth knowledge and tips on how to care for your orchids and get the most out of your collection.
The cost will be $10 for adults and free for supervised children under 12 years old. The show runs from 11 am to 4 pm on both days.
Carnivorous Plant Sale
If you want to take kids to a plant sale, then head to Allan Gardens to get a carnivorous plant like a venus fly trap during Hungry for Love – Carnivorous Plant Sale event.
The plant sale is hosted by Friends of Allan Gardens and Plantzza Hut, and will take place on Sunday. The sale will feature a wide selection of carnivorous plants, including various species of Nepenthes, Pinguicula, Dosera, and more.
You’ll also find an array of cacti, succulents, tropical foliage plants, and native plant and vegetable seeds. To enhance your collection, Plantzza Hut has also designed carnivorous plant stickers, which will be available for purchase.
Whether you’re a seasoned grower or just starting out, you’ll find everything you need to cultivate your plants, including soil and growing mediums at this sale.
The Hungry for Love – Carnivorous Plant Sale is free to attend and runs from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m on February 12th at Children’s Conservatory at Allan Gardens on the west side of the park.
