Live Nation Canada has acquired The Opera House, a historic music venue in Toronto.
The iconic venue, originally established as a theatre in 1909 and later transformed into a cinema, was reimagined as The Opera House by the Ellinas family in 1989.
Over the years, it has hosted numerous unforgettable performances and welcomed esteemed artists such as Metallica, Nirvana, Eminem, A$AP Rocky, and many others. The Ellinas family will continue to be involved in the day-to-day operations of the venue.
“The success of this legendary venue is due to the support from our partners, promoters, artists, management and agents who trusted us with hosting their events over the years,” said Athena Ellinas-Towers, General Manager, The Opera House in a news release. She expressed gratitude to Live Nation Canada for their commitment to maintaining the venue’s legacy and providing exceptional music, cultural, and fan experiences.
Recognizing the venue’s significant contribution to Toronto’s arts and culture scene, Wayne Zronik, President, Business Operations, Live Nation Canada expressed excitement about showcasing the best of The Opera House and building upon the foundation laid by the Ellinas family.
This acquisition marks another addition to Live Nation Canada’s expanding venue footprint in Canada and its global venue portfolio.
