Waterloo’s Wonders of Winter festival is ready to welcome visitors for another spectacular season. Waterloo Park will be lit with over 100,000 lights from this Saturday until New Year’s Day!
The lights will be switched on at 5 p.m. on Saturday, November 25th, and will be on daily until 10:30 p.m. every evening till January 1, 2024. This captivating spectacle will have more than 120 vibrant displays.
Stoll the park viewing the beautiful light displays and listening to holiday music. This volunteer-run festival is free to enjoy.
For a special winter treat, join the Waterloo Public Library on December 20th, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, at the log schoolhouse for “Story Night.” This event promises a delightful evening of winter crafts, songs, and captivating stories. The event is suitable for families with children of all ages and their caregivers.
Hot chocolate, apple cider, and popcorn will be available for purchase at the Park Inn every Friday and Saturday from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Visitors can explore Santa’s animated workshops, where diligent elves will be busy making toys.
Additionally, throughout the evenings in December, hand carved Nativity scene will be on display adjacent to the barn.
Park your vehicles in one of the many parking spaces nearby as vehicular traffic will not be permitted in the festival area of the park. Do note that with the Park Inn lot will be closed during the event. For the best parking, enter off Seagram Dr by the ION station. Alternatively, visitors can reach the park via transit.
Though the park is not barrier-free, people on mobile devices can still view most of the displays by following the yellow trails in the Accessibility Map.
