Lotto Max Jackpot Reaches Record $90 Million for Friday’s Draw, With $108 Million in Prizes Up for Grabs

Canada’s Lotto Max jackpot has reached a new milestone, with a record-breaking $90 million grand prize available in the next draw on Friday, October 16, 2026.

It is the largest single lottery jackpot ever offered in Canada, surpassing the $85 million jackpot advertised for the October 13 draw.

And the $90 million jackpot is only part of what’s available on Friday.

The upcoming draw will also feature an estimated 18 Maxmillions prizes worth $1 million each, bringing the combined jackpot and Maxmillions prize pool to approximately $108 million.

On top of that, there will be 90 MaxPlus prizes worth $100,000 each, adding another $9 million in potential winnings.

Why Has the Lotto Max Jackpot Reached $90 Million?

The record amount follows changes introduced to Lotto Max in April 2026.

The national lottery increased its maximum jackpot from $80 million to $90 million, making Friday’s draw the first to reach the new ceiling.

The changes also introduced MaxPlus prizes, which offer additional chances to win $100,000 in every draw.

Under the current rules, the number of MaxPlus prizes corresponds to the jackpot amount in millions. That means Friday’s $90 million jackpot comes with 90 MaxPlus prizes.

Maxmillions prizes, meanwhile, become available when the main jackpot reaches $50 million.

How Much Does a Lotto Max Ticket Cost?

A Lotto Max play costs $6 and includes four selections of seven numbers.

Players select seven numbers from 1 to 52, with three additional Quick Pick selections included.

To win the main jackpot, a selection must match all seven main winning numbers. If multiple tickets match, the jackpot is shared.

Lotto Max draws take place every Tuesday and Friday.

When Is the Next Lotto Max Draw?

The next draw takes place Friday, October 16, 2026, with the following prizes available:

  • Main jackpot: $90 million
  • Maxmillions: Approximately 18 prizes of $1 million each
  • MaxPlus: 90 prizes of $100,000 each

In total, these prizes represent approximately $117 million in potential winnings.

Tickets are available through authorized lottery retailers and eligible provincial lottery platforms. Players must meet the legal age requirements in their province or territory.
