Who doesn’t love a good craft festival? At Almonte Fibrefest, you’ll get to see what local artisans are creating, and you might get to learn a thing or two about working with textiles yourself.

Thinking of heading to Almonte Fibrefest? Here, you’ll find 55+ local vendors offering some of their amazing crafts for sale. Spend some time checking them all out and pick up a few things to take home.
If you’re interested in learning more about working with textiles and creating your crafts, then you’ll want to join some of the great workshops and demonstrations that will be running during the Almonte Fibrefest.
You’ll be able to learn things like rug hooking, making slippers, spinning your yarn, and basketry. With so many different workshops, you’re sure to come home with plenty of new knowledge.
You should also consider checking out some of the demos and lectures that will be going on this year. This year’s special guest is Claire Wellesley-Smith, who will be talking about her experience researching former industrial textiles communities in the UK.
This year’s Fibrefest will be held from September 7th to 11th at Almonte Community Centre and the Mississippi Valley Textile Museum.. The workshops begin September 7th, and the main festival with vendors and demonstrations will be held on Saturday, 10 am – 5 pm, and Sunday, 10 am-4 pm. Admission to the festival is $7.00 per person.
