Did you miss the drone shows during CNE or do you want to see a light show created by illuminated drones for free? Then, get free tickets to an evening of wonder in November.
Renowned Toronto artist, Katharine Harvey, will create an ethereal night of illuminations in the sky using flying drones on November 12th during the event, Light Up Downsview.
The show organized by Luminato Festival, Northcrest Developments, and North York Arts will take place on November 12th over the skies of Downsview Airport Lands.
Luminato Festival says this will be the largest contemporary art drone show in Canada.
The show by Katharine Harvey will last twelve minutes and will feature 108 illuminated drones performing in the night sky. The drone light show is called, “Turning in the Light” and is based on Katharine’s recent paintings which “explores the mystery of the cosmos as interpreted by architectural space.”
The show will be created by Northstar Drone Shows, who will program 108 drones to recreate the ethereal painting in the sky.
Festival goers to the event will also get to enjoy complimentary hot beverages, entertainment, and family activities in addition to a breathtaking display of aerial art.
Those interested in learning about the technical side of the light show can see explore the drone field up close and talk to the flight crew after the main event.
Admission is free, but advanced registration is required.
