Get to Markham to enjoy one of the tastiest festivals in the GTA.
Taste of Asia lights up Markham’s summer season with dazzling cultural performances and foodie delights!
Closing down Kennedy Road between Steeles Avenue and Denison Street, the iconic festival fills the street with three days of nonstop festivities this weekend, preceding Canada Day from June 26 to 28.
The three-day event features over 150 food vendors offering a wide range of dishes, including Asian-fusion cuisine, desserts, and popular items such as crispy boneless chicken, rose tteokbokki, and bubble tea. Vendors include Hibiki Japanese Cuisine, WuBaEats, and Mango Like Desserts, among others.
Alongside culinary offerings, the festival will present a lineup of cultural performances that reflect the rich traditions of Asian communities in Canada and abroad. Audiences can expect a mix of traditional and contemporary dance, music, and visual displays, with participation from both local artists and international performers. Among the featured acts is Hong Kong actor Philip Keung.
Along with the food vendors, you will find mini-games, children’s activities, a carnival area, live performances, traditional arts, demonstrations and hands-on workshops.
The festival was first introduced in 2003 to boost the local economy following the SARS epidemic, promote Canada’s multicultural mosaic, and foster harmony among various cultural groups.
