Aboiteau Beach, situated in Cap-Acadie, has achieved a significant milestone as it became the first beach in Eastern Canada to receive the prestigious “Rainbow Registered” certification.
This prestigious designation acknowledges Aboiteau Beach’s commitment to workplace policies that promote diversity and inclusion, its support for the 2ELGBTQIA+ community, and the implementation of ongoing staff training and education.
Rainbow Registered is a national certification program for 2ELGBTQIA+ friendly businesses and organizations, recognizing those that meet the required quality standards. This certification reassures individuals who visit Aboiteau Beach, guaranteeing a truly welcoming and secure environment.
Aboiteau Beach is also a designated Blue Flag beach. Only twenty Canadian beaches were awarded the coveted environmental award this year.
First awarded the Blue Flag designation in 2018, the recent Rainbow Registered certification solidifies its position as an industry leader. Aboiteau Beach, located along the Northumberland Strait, offers a refreshing swimming experience in its cooler waters. The beach boasts several amenities, including showers, a volleyball net, and a licensed restaurant. Additionally, Aboiteau Beach features a wheelchair-accessible pathway leading to the water, and tourists are encouraged to explore the picturesque 2.5km trail through the surrounding marshland.
