The City of Brampton is set to celebrate its 50th anniversary, starting with a New Year’s Eve bash on December 31, 2023.

Experience Brampton
This event, free to the public, will take place in Garden Square, offering live performances, outdoor skating, food vendors, and more.
It marks the beginning of a series of events throughout 2024 to honour Brampton’s 50 years of diversity and growth since its incorporation in 1974. The year 2024 will witness a range of events and initiatives that reflect Brampton’s dynamic growth and diversity. The pinnacle of these celebrations is set for June 29, 2024, when the city will host its grandest birthday party yet.
The celebration will feature performances by local Brampton artists, including Young Cake, Ajhani Azure, and DuoTang, as well as Brampton Arts Walk of Fame inductee Keshia Chanté and Canadian rock band Our Lady Peace, headlining the event. The night will conclude with a spectacular fireworks display sponsored by Tim Hortons.
The event will be hosted by comedian Jay Martin, a JUNO award winner known for his engaging and humorous routines.
In addition to the entertainment, the city encourages residents to support local businesses by dining at one of the many exceptional restaurants in downtown Brampton. Furthermore, Brampton Transit will offer free services post-7pm on New Year’s Eve, with extended routes to facilitate attendees.
Residents should note that the City of Brampton bans the use of private fireworks. A new by-law has been implemented, which restricts the use of fireworks within the city. Only city-organized events are allowed to feature fireworks.
