Protecting the region where the North Atlantic Ocean touches the Island boreal forest of Eastern Newfoundland, Terra Nova National Park offers its visitors, many outdoor adventure including trekking magnificent coastal trails that showcases the landscape of the park — from the rugged cliffs and sheltered inlets of the coastal region to the rolling forested hills, bogs and ponds of the inland.
Cultural history abounds in the remnants of sawmills and ancestral cultures and visitors can fully immerse in the cultural activities by participating in various interpretive programs like guided walks and evening entertainment available at the outside theatre.
Camping is at Newman Sound and Malady Head campgrounds from fully-serviced campsites to unique accommodations such as our oTENTiks and Ôasis units.
The 2019 dates for Terra Nova National Park campsites, oTENTiks and Ôasis are:
— Newman Sound Campground: May 15 to October 13 (266 Campsites / 20 oTENTiks / 2 Ôasis)
— Malady Head Campground: June 12 to September 21 (92 Campsites / 10 oTENTiks / 3 Ôasis)
— Backcountry Camping: May 15 to October 7
Reservations at Terra Nova National Park including front-country and backcountry sites, oTENTiks and Ôasis will launch on January 22, 2019, at 8:30 a.m. NL Time. These reservations can be done online on Parks Canada’s Reservation Service website www.reservation.parkscanada.gc.ca or by calling the reservation call centre.
