Edmonton will host a festival centred on pickling and fermentation, bringing together food, drink, and festivities in an open-air setting in the fall of 2026.
Picklefest Canada, produced in partnership with OEG Sports & Entertainment, is set to take place at Fan Park @ ICE District on October 17, 2026.
The event follows three consecutive sold-out editions in Toronto and an expansion to Vancouver, marking Edmonton as the next city to join the festival’s national footprint.
Picklefest began at Henderson Brewing Company in Toronto in October 2023. Now entering its fourth year, the festival continues to grow, with Edmonton and Calgary both added to the lineup for fall 2026.
Adin Wener, co-founder of Henderson Brewing, describes the festival as more than a traditional food or beer gathering. He points to pickling and fermentation as shared culinary processes that connect food culture and craft brewing, and says the event focuses on showcasing that range rather than a single product category.
The Edmonton edition will feature pickled and fermented foods prepared in a variety of styles, including brined, cured, marinated, and preserved offerings. A dedicated beverage program will include pickle-inspired cocktails, craft drinks, non-alcoholic options, and other fermented creations explicitly developed for the festival.
The schedule also includes a “Show Us Your Pickle” competition, in which home picklers from across Alberta will compete for the top title, along with live music, family-oriented activities, local artisan vendors, and limited-edition merchandise.
Picklefest Edmonton is an all-ages event. Presale tickets are now available, with early-bird general admission priced at $12.95 and VIP at $17.95. Regular admission is $22.95; VIP tickets are $27.95.
