Popeyes’ Famous Chicken Sandwich Available in Edmonton From June 17th

It was announced in February of this year that the Popeyes Chicken Sandwich that created a viral sensation in the US will launch in Canada by September of 2020.

It now seems that Edmontonians and Albertans in some other locations need not wait that long.

Popeyes is doing a test launch and Popeyes famous Chicken Sandwich will be available at all Edmonton locations from Wednesday, June 17th.

It will also be available at Red Deer, Grand Prairie, Lloydminster and Fort Saskatchewan at a date this month.

Dustin Nielson of TSN 1260 tweeted, “Got a sneak peak at the Famous Popeyes Chicken Sandwich today, not available across Canada until September but WILL be available at all Edmonton locations starting Wednesday. It’s worth the hype”

Restaurants Brands International which owns Popeyes said the iconic Chicken Sandwich was a game-changer for the brand in every way with a 42 per cent growth in sales for Popeyes during the fourth quarter of 2019 boosted by the Chicken Sandwich. Popeyes sales also grew 32% mainly due to the chicken sandwich during first quarter of 2020.

Popeyes also will offer a deluxe version of the chicken sandwich, which includes lettuce and tomato. The regular Popeyes Chicken Sandwich will be priced at $6.49 + tax and the Deluxe Chicken Sandwich at $6.99 + tax.
