Porter Airlines and Alaska Airlines have joined forces in a strategic partnership that aims to expand their flight offerings and enhance service across Canada and the U.S.

CNW Group/Porter Airlines Inc.
This collaboration leverages Porter’s strong presence in Eastern Canada and Alaska Airlines’ solid network on the U.S. West Coast. As part of this new alliance, customers can now book integrated flight itineraries involving both airlines, available for purchase on Porter’s website or through external agencies.
Starting January, the partnership will see the inauguration of Porter’s direct flights from Toronto Pearson to key Alaska Airlines hubs in Los Angeles and San Francisco. Per the news release, this move will initially open up access to 18 western U.S. cities, including Portland, San Diego, Seattle, and Phoenix, through Alaska’s network. Additionally, new routes via shared Canadian airports are anticipated to be operational by early 2024.
The agreement also includes reciprocal benefits for loyalty program members. From January, Alaska’s Mileage Plan members can earn points on Porter flights, and later in 2024, both VIPorter and Mileage Plan members will have the ability to accrue miles across both airlines’ networks, regardless of the booking source. The partnership is set to further evolve next year, offering enhanced mileage redemption options for members of both airlines.
