After the Great War, people around the world honoured the brave men and women who fought for them on Armistice Day, now renamed Remembrance Day. Join us as we reflect on their bravery and sacrifice through letters, poetry, and songs from the Western Front. 2. In Remembrance
The ERS’ annual “In Remembrance” concert this year features Edmontonian mezzo-soprano Lizzy Hoyt, who now calls Winnipeg home. Lizzy is a multi-faceted artist, who has performed with great success in both folk and classical genres. The winner of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal, and lauded by Opera Canada for her dramatic depth, Lizzy comes to perform this special ERS event with pianist, Lisa Rumpel. Details

4. A Remembrance Day Concert

The Canadian War Museum invites Canadians from across the country and around the world to participate in one of the most moving Remembrance Day ceremonies in Canada. No Stone Left Alone Remembrance Ceremony
Annual No Stone Left Alone ceremony, where junior high school students, soldiers and community members will gather to remember Canada’s fallen military personnel by placing poppies on solders’ headstones in the Fields of Honour. Details

Remembrance Ceremony at City Hall Plaza
A Remembrance Day ceremony will be held at City Hall to honour the achievements and sacrifices of those who served our country in times of war and peace. The service will be led by the Commanding Officer of the Loyal Edmonton Regiment. Following the service, there will be an outdoor procession to the City Hall Cenotaph, where wreaths will be laid.
