REP Implementation Grant: Alberta Offering $2000 to Businesses Implementing COVID-19 Restrictions

Premier Jason Kenney today announced Alberta will be providing financial supports to businesses implementing Restrictions Exemption Program.

The provincial government introduced two new programs today – REP Implementation Grant and REP Training Grant.

REP Implementation Grant is a one-time payment of $2,000 to Alberta small and medium-sized businesses that are eligible for and choose to implement the Restrictions Exemption Program, requiring proof of vaccination, a negative test result or medical exemption. As per the news release, businesses can use the funding as they see fit.

 

Alberta is also providing $1 million in REP Training Grant to eligible industry associations across the province to develop or procure training to help workers assess and manage challenging situations that may arise during their daily work.

In addition to this, the government is doubling fines from $2,000 to $4,000 for those who harass and mistreat workers implementing Alberta’s COVID-19 restrictions.

How to Apply:

Province says the application for REP Implementation Grant will open in the next four to six weeks.
