Richmond Hill’s Ribfest is back and tastier than ever!
This highly anticipated annual event brings together rib teams from across North America to showcase their mouthwatering offerings. With a variety of food options available, there’s something to please every palate. But this year, the Ribfest is going retro, taking attendees on a nostalgic journey through the decades.
The three-day outdoor festival, held at Richmond Green Park, will feature professional rib teams and an entertainment lineup that pays homage to the ’60s, ’70s, ’80s, and ’90s.
Attendees can feast on delectable offerings from renowned ribbers. Bibbs Texas BBQ stands out with its succulent baby back ribs, while Billy Bones BBQ boasts over 250 award-winning sauces. Camp 31 offers the best Southern-style barbeque, slow-smoked over hickory logs, and Hawgs Gone Wild BBQ tempts with its famous sweet and sticky sauce. Uncle Sam’s BBQ impresses with high-quality cooking using the finest spices and cherry wood for smoking and grilling.
On Friday, prepare to groove to the tunes of the ’80s and ’90s, with performances by Reckless Bryan, a Bryan Adams tribute band, and Wild Shot Honey. Saturday will transport visitors to the rhythmic revolution of the ’70s, with acts like JSDC, Part Time Gods, and Night Fever. Sunday wraps up the festivities with Motown classics and ’60s rock ‘n’ roll from Meep Moop, Rick Levine, and the Fabulous Knockouts.
While indulging in the festival-style delights, such as corn on the cob and blooming onions, visitors can also explore vegetarian and vegan options. And for those looking to quench their thirst, King Henry’s Arms Beer Garden provides a variety of craft beers and coolers.
But the Retro Ribfest isn’t just about food and music. The event also offers interactive areas for family fun. The Superior Events Midway features over 20 mechanical and inflatable attractions, including a low-impact play-zone for toddlers. The Vintage Community Garage Sale, hosted by the Rotary Club of Richmond Hill, gives visitors the chance to find treasures among unwanted household items.
Admission to the event is free, but fees apply for vendor purchases and midway attractions. Public parking is available with on-site attendants to assist visitors.
