Saskatoon Santa Claus Parade

The 34th Annual Saskatoon Santa Claus Parade, presented by Midtown, will take place on Sunday, November 16, 2025, beginning at 1:00 p.m.

The long-standing community event marks the official start of the holiday season in Saskatoon, featuring festive floats, local performers, and an appearance by Santa Claus.

This year’s parade will be hosted by Derek Watson and Juanita Sparks, two familiar faces in the Saskatchewan community. Together, Derek and Juanita will bring live commentary and festive energy to both in-person spectators and those tuning in from home for the parade broadcast.

Parade Route and Road Closures

The parade will take place in downtown Saskatoon, beginning at 1:00 p.m.

The parade will travel through downtown Saskatoon, filling the streets with music, performers, and marching bands, and providing prime viewing opportunities for attendees.

Several road closures and restrictions will be in place on Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Roads closing at 9:00 a.m. (reopening by 3:00 p.m.):

  • 20th Street at 4th Avenue
  • 21st Street between 1st and 2nd Avenues
  • 1st Avenue between 22nd and 23rd Streets
  • Idylwyld Drive ramp to 1st Avenue
  • 19th Street between Avenue B and 4th Avenue

Roads closing at 12:00 p.m., reopening after the parade passes each section:

  • 1st Avenue between 20th and 22nd Streets
  • 2nd Avenue between 19th and 23rd Streets
  • 3rd Avenue between 19th and 23rd Streets
  • 4th Avenue between 20th and 23rd Streets
  • 20th Street between Idylwyld Drive and Spadina Crescent
  • 21st Street between 2nd Avenue and Spadina Crescent
  • 22nd Street between Pacific and 5th Avenues

Parking availability may be limited due to the event, and residents are advised to consider alternative transportation methods if possible.

Saskatoon Transit routes may also be affected by these closures. Riders are encouraged to check real-time updates through third-party transit apps, including Transit and Google Maps Transit, to stay informed about detours and schedule adjustments.

Warm-Up Stations

To keep warm during the event, several establishments along the parade route will offer specials on hot drinks and snacks. These warm-up stations provide attendees with a chance to escape the cold and enjoy refreshments:

  • Midtown Shopping Center on 1st Avenue
  • Remai Modern on 2nd Avenue
  • Drinkle Mall and the Saskatoon Public Library on 3rd Avenue
  • Meewasin Skating Rink on Spadina Crescent
  • The YMCA of Saskatoon will host a special community warm-up station offering complimentary hot chocolate and popcorn, facility tours, and a First Payment Free membership promotion for new registrants.

What to Bring to the Parade

To make the most of the event, attendees should dress warmly and come prepared with extra mittens, scarves, and hats, as temperatures can be chilly. In addition to staying warm, families are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items or new toys to donate to local holiday charities if drop-off points are available.

Hot beverages will be available at nearby downtown venues, but visitors may also bring their own drinks and snacks. As always, spectators are asked to stay behind barricades and avoid stepping onto the street during the parade procession.

So, gather your family and friends, don your coziest winter attire, and make your way to the Saskatoon Santa Claus Parade.
