Starbucks customers in the United States and Canada will no longer be charged extra for selecting nondairy milk options in their beverages at company-owned stores starting next week.
Starting November 7, this policy shift applies to popular alternatives such as soy, oat, almond, and coconut milk.
Starbucks says this adjustment reflects the company’s response to customer preferences, as substituting nondairy milk ranks among the top two modifications requested by customers, second only to adding an espresso shot.
Per the news release, the new policy will benefit a substantial segment of Starbucks’ customer base, particularly those in Canada, where more than 25% of patrons are expected to see savings exceeding 10% on customized drinks with non-dairy options.
