A trip on the century-old streetcar while enjoying a sunset from the century-old bridge across the famous River Valley while sipping a local brew, might be one of the kept secrets of Edmonton’s entertainment calendar.
Starting this May and running until September, the Street Car offers a scenic view of the High-Level Bridge and the river valley while sipping a glass of cask beer. The city’s famous gastro-lounge, The Common, will serve good food and a great atmosphere, paired with a different Alberta Brewery for each journey.
Operating every Thursday evening from May 21 through October, the event pairs a relaxing ride with a rotating selection of Alberta’s finest breweries, now in its eleventh year.
Passengers aboard the streetcar can savour two special cask beers per trip, each crafted exclusively for these journeys by notable breweries like Blindman, Dandy, and Sea Change, among others. Each trip highlights unique brews from two different breweries, ensuring a new tasting experience on every trip.
There will be a performance to enjoy back at the Common after the event to keep the party going.
New this year is Cocktail rides on Wednesdays. This experience includes cocktails from local establishments like Coco’s and Dolly’s Cocktails, plus a two-item snack menu, combining drinks, local flavours and a scenic evening aboard.
High-Level Streetcar takes you along the former Canadian Pacific Railway track from Old Strathcona through the only tunnel built on a CPR mainline in Alberta and across the High-Level Bridge into Edmonton’s Downtown.
The tickets are now on sale for $63.10 per person ($64.15 for a cocktail ride).

A pour from both of the casks. A light 2-item food menu (not a meal) from The Common, transportation on the rail car & back to the original stop plus a ticket for a select pour of beer at The Common after the event.
Cocktail Street Car Rides
Guests will ride Edmonton’s historic High-Level Streetcar while taking in river valley views and sampling cocktails created by local joints like Dolly’s and Coco’s.
