Calgary 
WestJet has unveiled its summer 2025 schedule, highlighting a significant expansion of its network, including 10% overall growth and a 12% increase in domestic connectivity.

The airline is introducing five new destinations and 11 new routes, including domestic and transborder options.
New Domestic Destinations
WestJet is adding two new domestic destinations with exclusive direct flights to Calgary:
- Sydney, Nova Scotia: The airline will offer twice-weekly service between Sydney and Calgary, marking the first non-stop route connecting Cape Breton to Alberta. This new service will also link Cape Bretoners to WestJet’s global hub in Calgary, providing broader international travel options.
- Sudbury, Ontario: WestJet introduces twice-weekly flights to Sudbury, enabling Northern Ontario communities access to Western Canada for business and leisure travel.
Enhanced Transborder Connectivity
Three U.S. destinations will be added to WestJet’s Alberta network and these include:
- Anchorage, Alaska: Twice-weekly flights between Calgary and Anchorage will cater to seasonal demand, connecting travelers to Alaska’s natural landscapes and cruise opportunities.
- Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina: Three-times-weekly flights will connect Calgary to one of the fastest-growing U.S. metropolitan areas, a hub for healthcare, education, and technology.
- Salt Lake City, Utah: Five-times-weekly flights from Edmonton will offer non-stop access to Utah’s scenic attractions and support both leisure and business travel.
Increased connectivity to Florida is also a key highlight, with four new routes catering to travellers seeking sun-soaked getaways. Additions include new routes between Vancouver and Tampa, and Calgary and Fort Lauderdale, among others.
Summer Schedule Changes:
- Calgary to Raleigh-Durham: 3x weekly from June 9 to October 13 (New route)
- Calgary to Anchorage: 2x weekly from June 29 to September 7 (New route)
- Calgary to Minneapolis: 4x weekly from May 16 to September 3 (New route)
- Calgary to Fort Lauderdale: 1x weekly, extending year-round service from winter
- Calgary to Tampa: 1x weekly, extending year-round service from winter
- Edmonton to Salt Lake City: 5x weekly from May 15 to October 24 (New route)
- Edmonton to Chicago: 5x weekly from May 15 to October 24 (New route)
- Vancouver to Boston: Daily service from June 9 to October 13 (New route)
- Vancouver to Tampa: 5x weekly from May 15 to October 24 (New route)
- Winnipeg to Orlando: 1x weekly, extending year-round service from winter
- Kelowna to Seattle: 7x weekly, extending year-round service from winter
Per the news release, WestJet employs over 14,000 people, operates 200 aircraft, and serves over 100 destinations across 25 countries.
