This natural and quieter part of southern Ontario is a wonderful escape from any busier part of the province. The beach vibes around Tiny are relaxed and slower-paced, leaving space for things like picnics, hikes, bike rides, and sunbathing.

Tiny Beach Road follows the Georgian Bay shore to reveal beach towns, public sandy spots with parking, and small family attractions. Toward the north end of Tiny is a large Provincial Park that can offer an entire weekend’s worth of fun and recreation.

Water Adventures & Beach Experiences in Tiny

The Tiny municipality and township take up a great amount of shoreline area along the Georgian Bay to provide a few different beaches and beach towns to visit.

  • Bluewater Beach is a popular spot on the south end of Tiny and north end of Wasaga. Enjoy walks along the expansive boardwalk trail, sunbathing, and a simple beach experience.

  • Jackson Beach Park is a bit larger and offers more amenities like picnic areas and tables, accessible beach access, a playground, and a boat launch.
  • Balm Beach is Tiny’s beach town area and offers more off-the-water places to dine and family attractions like go-karts and mini golf.
  • Awenda Provincial Park on the north end of Tiny offers even more beach experiences! This Georgian Bay park has three beaches on the east side of its Methodist Point viewing area and a fourth beach on the west side. And at the day-use parking area, you can rent your own canoe to take on the park’s smaller Kettle Lake.
  • Create your own adventures on the Georgian Bay waters with the help of Diverse Boat Rentals & Tours. For tours, they offer private boat rides and sunset tours. And for rentals, take your pick between jet skis, kayaks, canoes, paddleboards, floating mats, pontoon boats, or fishing boats.
  • For those with their own canoes or kayaks, the Tiny Marsh Provincial Wildlife Area is a great place for kids or people new to paddling.

The Best Hiking in Tiny

There isn’t a large abundance of trails around Tiny. However, the trails that run through Tiny extend over 10km in various directions, offering a great array of trails and hiking opportunities.

  • Explore trails that are close to 20km worth of hiking or biking on the Tiny Trail, which also connects to the North Simcoe Rail Trail.
  • Awenda Provincial Park boasts over 30km of trails, all with great natural scenery and some with a few historical points. The Robitaille Homestead Trail is about 3km out and back, with views of the sand dunes and the abandoned homestead. On the more challenging side is the 13km Bluff Trail, which creates a large loop around the park and offers stunning views of the Georgian Bay.

Local Dining in Tiny

Most of the local dining around Tiny is located along the shoreline. But take a day trip or drive more inland to find even more!

  • Along the shorelines are great family restaurants and fast food spots like Surf Bar & Grill, Georgian Grill, Tiny Treats European Deli, or The Friendly Corner.
  • Away from the waters are must-try places in Tiny like Perky’s Fish & Fries, The Tiny HUB, or La Baguette.

Festival Du Loup

Tiny and Lafontaine’s annual Festival Du Loup, or Festival of the Wolf, takes place each July and focuses on celebrating Francophone culture, history, and heritage.

The events will include live concerts, other performances, kids’ activities, food, a parade, and much more.

Places to Stay in Tiny

Take your pick between a large number of great beach resorts and cottages around Tiny. Many of the accommodations in Tiny will have you and your family steps away from beaches.

  • Book with resorts like Sunsport Beach Club, Balm Beach Resort & Motel, Airbnb Rentals, or VRBO Rentals.
  • Awenda has wonderful campgrounds and a cottage that offers campers a short walk from the four beaches and from Kettle Lake.
