Irish roots in the Colony of Avalon date back to Lord Baltimore’s original settlement in 1621, when he first came to the New World with a group of Irish Catholics.
The early part of the 18th century saw a major influx of Irish fishermen and women to the settlement. It was these Irish settlers who built homes and started families all along the Southern Shore. For generations they celebrated the customs and traditions of their beloved native Ireland through humor, music and song.
Each year we remember these early times and celebrate the strength and character of our forefathers through the retelling of their stories in theatre and concert.
