Tim Hortons has introduced a new range of hot and iced matcha drinks at participating restaurants across Canada, giving customers another option beyond coffee and black tea.
The lineup includes five beverages: the Vanilla Iced Matcha Latte with Cold Foam, Original Iced Matcha Latte, Unsweetened Iced Matcha Latte, Hot Vanilla Matcha Latte and Hot Matcha Latte.
According to Tim Hortons, the drinks are prepared using high-quality, 100% pure matcha tea. The matcha comes from shade-grown green tea leaves that are picked and dried before being double-ground into a fine powder.
That process is intended to preserve the tea’s fresh flavour and produce the bright green colour commonly associated with matcha. The powder is also ground at a low temperature.
Matthew Feaver, head of innovation for Tim Hortons, said the company wanted to offer customers an authentic matcha experience in both hot and cold formats.
“We sourced a 100% pure matcha green tea that is double-ground at a low temperature,” Feaver said.
Customers can choose between sweetened and unsweetened options, while those looking for something richer can add vanilla flavour or cold foam.
The five new matcha beverages are available now at participating Tim Hortons locations across Canada.
